NRA Basic AR15 Rifle Course

The NRA basic AR15 rifle teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of an AR15 rifle in target shooting. This course is at least 8 to 12 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot AR15 rifles. 

Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest sitting position, standing and kneeling position. 

Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

More Details:

  • NO LIVE AMMO IS PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM. 
  • LIVE AMMO WILL BE USED ONLY AT THE RANGE DURING LIVE FIRE EXERCISE.
  • Students can bring their own AR15 (223/5.56)/AR9 (9mm) rifle.
  • All firearms must be cased & unloaded!
  • All students must notify the instructor if they bring their own gun before the class starts. 
  • Pricing does not include ammunition and applicable the Range fees of $15 - $35. You will need 50-100 rounds ammunition. This can be purchased at the Range.
